Earlier this month, Associate Professor Greg Gillespie in Brock's Department of Communication, Popular Culture and Film won his second Three Castles Award, recognizing originality in independent game design. Gillespie was honoured for Dwarrowdeep, which was inspired by the work of J.R.R. Tolkien and Gary Gygax and features artwork from some of the original illustrators of the Dungeons and Dragons role-playing game. Gillespie is pictured at the North Texas Role-Playing Game Convention in Dallas with Mike Badalato, Convention Director and Chair of the Three Castles Award Committee. Gillespie previously won the award in 2018 and placed second in 2013.
