Welcome to Brock: A message from President Rigg

Dear Badgers,

Welcome to the Fall Term. Whether you’re returning to Brock or joining our community for the first time, I hope you’re looking forward to the year ahead.

I had the opportunity to take part in Welcome Weekend and residence move-in this year, and there is nothing quite like seeing campus come to life as students arrive with their families, meet new roommates and begin settling into their Brock experience. Thank you to everyone across the University who helped welcome our newest Badgers.

As classes begin, I want to remind you that Brock is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where every member of our community can learn, contribute and feel that they belong.

Universities are places where ideas are explored and different perspectives come together. At Brock, we encourage open and respectful dialogue, including when we disagree. Being willing to listen, ask questions and consider different points of view is an important part of learning and of being part of a university community.

We also know that university life can bring challenges alongside opportunities. Brock offers a wide range of academic, wellness and safety resources to help you throughout the year. Whether you need academic guidance, health and wellness services, accessibility supports or help navigating an unexpected challenge, I encourage you to reach out and use the resources available to you.

Badgers, it’s great to have you back. I hope you make the most of the opportunities ahead, connect with the people around you and find your own way to be part of the Brock community.

I look forward to seeing you on campus throughout the year.

Sincerely,

Lesley Rigg
President and Vice-Chancellor
