Career fairs to prepare students for their next professional steps

Brock students from a range of programs can explore professional pathways and connect with potential employers during three upcoming career and graduate studies fairs.

Julia, University’s Co-op, Career and Experiential Education (CCEE) office, says the events are designed to “create momentum” for Brock students.

“Whether they’re connecting with leading accounting employers, exploring opportunities in education or considering graduate and professional programs, students have the chance to meet employers and admissions representatives, ask questions and see what’s possible beyond the classroom. We’re excited to bring our students and these communities together and to support students in building purposeful pathways beyond Brock.”

Taking place Wednesday, Sept. 16 and Thursday, Sept. 17, the CPA Recruitment Days will offer opportunities for students to network with representatives from a variety of accounting firms, with different prospective employers attending each day. Students should dress in business professional attire, bring copies of their resumés and prepare to share their skills and career goals. Registration details for each day are available on ExperienceBU.

For students looking to continue their education after graduation, the Graduate and Professional School offers a chance to meet with more than 25 institutions and learn more about academic programs that meet their career goals. The event takes place Thursday, Sept. 24 and registration details are available on ExperienceBU.

Teacher candidates, current students and recent graduates from the Faculty of Education can learn more about Canadian and international career pathways in education at the Teacher Recruitment Fair on Thursday, Oct. 1. The event will feature more than 30 education organizations sharing information on teaching jobs, placements, educator roles and teach abroad opportunities.

CCEE offers a range of services to support all Brock students as they prepare for their future careers, including coaching, resumé and interview support, employer recruitment events and industry networking opportunities.
