Hosted by individuals and teams from across the University, the events highlighted the contributions, experiences and excellence of Black, African and Caribbean students, staff, faculty and broader communities.
The programming cumulated with the Afro-Caribbean Night and Black Futures Showcase, a student-focused celebration celebrating Black culture, creativity, innovation and resilience on Friday, Feb. 27.
Other events throughout the month, like documenting and archiving Black life, work and scholarship; the third annual Carnival workshop; an interactive session exploring the similarities and differences between African and Caribbean drumming; and course integrations featuring prominent Black community leaders, provided a range of opportunities for attendees to learn and to celebrate pride in culture and identity.
