The Roy and Lois Cairns Health and Bioscience Research Complex is one of 16 buildings affected by the annual electrical shutdown planned for Friday, May 9.A number of Brock University buildings will be closed overnight from Friday, May 9 to Saturday, May 10 for scheduled annual maintenance.
Part of Brock’s full-scale infrastructure maintenance cycle, the shutdown will affect the following Group C buildings:
- Roy and Lois Cairns Health and Bioscience Research Complex
- Welch Hall
- Scotia Bank Hall
- South Block
- Walker Complex
- Lowenberger Residence
- Village Residence
- Kenmore Centre
- Harrison Hall
- Theal House
- D Lot Parking Kiosk
- Rosalind Blauer Daycare
- Mackenzie Chown A Block
- Goodman School of Business
- Plaza Building
- Student Alumni Centre
The closures will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 9, with no access permitted until 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 10. All doors will be locked, and swipe card access will be unavailable.
Network access, including both wired and wireless connections, will go offline at 6 p.m. Friday and will return shortly after power is restored Saturday.
Employees, students and faculty using the affected spaces are reminded to shut down computers, printers and sensitive equipment, and to clean out fridges ahead of the closure to prevent spoilage.
