Niagara community organizations and Brock students interested in volunteerism will have a unique opportunity to learn and connect at an information and networking event taking place on campus next week.
Connecting Our Communities will feature an information session and networking opportunities, with a focus on promoting volunteer roles, addressing barriers to student involvement and leveraging Brock’s existing programs like Brock Cares.
“Connecting with the community through volunteerism and outreach is a vital part of the Brock experience,” said Jenna Moorhead, Community Experience Co-ordinator. “This event will help strengthen those relationships and provide organizations with valuable strategies for engaging student volunteers.”
Attendees will also gain insight into shifting volunteer trends as highlighted in the 2023 Living in Niagara Report, explore best practices for engaging and supporting student volunteers, hear from students about their volunteer experiences, and take part in discussions on creating meaningful opportunities.
The event takes place Wednesday, March 12 from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the Rankin Family Pavilion. All Brock students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend. Registration is free and available on ExperienceBU. For more details, contact Moorhead at [email protected]
