Goodman talk to explore impact of marketing leadership on innovation

The impact of marketing leaders on innovation and business outcomes will be the focus of the next Goodman School of Business Luncheon Speaker Series event.

Lopo Rego, Professor of Marketing at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, will tackle this topic during his talk, “Chief marketing officers and the value of firm innovations,” on Friday, Feb. 7.

Rego’s research — which focuses on marketing strategy, marketing capabilities and strategic brand management — examines how marketing strategies account for differences in the performance of a firm. His work has been published in the Journal of Marketing, Marketing Science and the European Journal of Marketing.

Rego holds a BSc in Economics and an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from Universidade Nova de Lisboa in Lisbon, Portugal. He earned his PhD in Marketing from the University of Michigan Business School. Prior to his current position, he held the positions of Associate Professor of Marketing at the Kelley School of Business as well as Assistant Professor and then Associate Professor of Marketing at the Henry B. Tippie School of Management at the University of Iowa.

The Luncheon Speaker Series provides Goodman faculty, staff and students with an informal opportunity to discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with business colleagues.
