Goodman prof’s talk to examine impact of inflation announcements

This week’s Goodman Luncheon Speaker Series will delve into the impact inflation announcements had on stock returns during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Simon Suwanyangyuan, Associate Professor of Accounting at Brock University will present his talk, Inflation Announcements and Stock Returns: Event Study Evidence from the COVID Period, on Friday, Nov. 8 in Sankey Chamber.

Suwanyangyuan is a CPA Ontario Emerging Research Scholar, his research focuses on auditing and financial disclosure with numerous publications on these topics. He completed his PhD at Simon Fraser University and obtained his CPA (Thailand) designation prior to becoming a professor.

The Luncheon Speaker Series provides Goodman faculty, staff and students with an informal opportunity to discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with business colleagues.

Also part of the 60 Research Talks at Brock series, which celebrates 60 years of impactful research at the University, the event will run from 12:30 to 2 p.m and is open to everyone.
