Brock University and communities nationwide will come together for two upcoming days of remembrance.
Indigenous Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 8, will provide an opportunity to reflect on the dedication and contributions of First Nations, Métis and Inuit to Canada’s military and peacekeeping missions.
The Hadiya’dagénhahs First Nations, Métis and Inuit Student Centre will host a beaded poppy-making workshop led by Peer Assistant Sophia Carnovale from 10 a.m. to noon. Attendees are encouraged to register through ExperienceBU.
On Monday, Nov. 11, Remembrance Day will be observed to honour the sacrifices of Canadian Armed Forces members and Royal Canadian Military Police who lost their lives in service, as well as those who continue to serve today.
A commemorative ceremony will take place in the Rankin Family Pavilion at 10:45 a.m.
The Brock community is invited to participate in remembrance events on campus and throughout the region.
