The Brock Information Technology Services (Brock ITS) team celebrated the end of a successful Cyber Security Awareness Month by announcing the winners of the BrockU Cyber Aware launch contest.
Three Brock community members won Echo Show 5 devices for achieving the lowest risk scores and demonstrating full engagement with the new BrockU Cyber Aware platform. The winners include Kymberly Ash, Teaching and Learning Librarian; Reid Ciolfi, Proctor; and Evan Kimpton, a third-year Computer Science student. The contest was supported by Brock ITS vendors Softchoice, CDW, Ironscales, Cloudflare and the Canadian Internet Registration Authority.
Brock ITS launched the new BrockU Cyber Aware training platform in October — recognized as Cyber Security Awareness Month in Canada and around the world — to help students, staff and faculty recognize cyber threats and learn best practices for online security. The platform includes courses, resources and practical simulations.
The team also expanded multifactor authentication protections for Brock users last month to better protect users and University infrastructure.
