Teams of Brock faculty and staff will match wits next month during the return of the United Way Campaign Trivia Night fundraiser.
The University’s 2024 employee workplace fundraising campaign aims to raise $162,000 for more than 150 life-changing United Way Niagara funded programs and initiatives addressing poverty, food insecurity, homelessness, mental illness, addiction, gender-based violence and other community issues.
Trivia Night — which is open to Brock employees, students, alumni, retirees and their guests — takes place on campus at Isaac’s on Friday, Nov. 15, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the event beginning at 7 p.m.
In addition to 10 rounds of questions covering a range of topics, including pop culture, sports and politics, the evening will also feature a pizza dinner, a cash bar and door prizes.
Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased on University Tickets until Sunday, Nov. 10. While team registration in groups of eight is recommended, individual registration is also accepted. Proceeds from the event will go towards the United Way campaign.
The much-loved Trivia Night is one of two signature events for this year’s campaign, with the Souper Star fundraiser already having taken place on Thursday, Oct. 24.
Approximately 100 faculty and staff gathered over lunch in support of the local not-for-profit organization, with 100 per cent of ticket sales going to the campaign thanks to generous in-kind sponsorship from Brock’s Dining Services partner Aramark Canada. Attendees voted for their favourite soups prepared by Brock Dining Services chefs and served by teams from the University’s seven Faculties.
Brock’s Faculty of Education took home the Souper Bowl trophy with Chef Harland Yeo’s creamy sun-dried tomato soup with chicken and bacon.
