Brock artists shine in local arts awards nominations

The impact of Brock graduates on the local arts and culture scene is in the spotlight thanks to this year’s St. Catharines Arts Awards.

The annual local arts awards ceremony honours some of the community’s talented creatives and their supporters in categories that include Arts in Education, Emerging Artist, Established Artist, Making a Difference and Patron of the Arts.

Brock creatives had a strong presence in the Emerging Artist Award category, which is presented to up-and-coming artists working in any discipline, as well as other nods across all categories:

Emerging Artist Award nominees:

  • Taylor Bogaert (BA ’20)
  • Joseph Gottli, (BBA ’09)
  • Skye Rogers (ARCS ’22)
  • Evan Sawatsky (BA ’24)
  • Amber Lee Williams (BA ’20)

Arts in Education Award nominees:

  • Laurie Boese (BA ’94)
  • Christina Hartmann (BA ’72)
  • Brenna McAllister (BA ’00, BEd ’02)

Making a Difference Award nominees

  • Deanna Jones (BA ’02)
  • Christina Hartmann (BA ’72)

Patron of the Arts Award nominee

  • Annette F. Urlocker (BA ’73)

The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, Nov. 3 at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre’s Robertson Theatre.
