THEN AND NOW: A sky-high celebration

To mark Brock’s 60th anniversary, The Brock News is launching a monthly series looking back at the University’s history through photos.

From Brock’s inception in 1964 to today, the University community has long been known for its school spirit. Throughout Brock’s history, students, faculty and staff have come together to create special aerial images to mark milestone moments, including the University’s 25th anniversary in 1989 (pictured above).

This tradition continued last week when hundreds of Brock community members again gathered in the green space in front of Schmon Tower, this time to commemorate the University’s 60th year.

Hundreds of people wearing red shirts form a large 60 on the green lawn of a university. They are pictured from the sky.

About 300 people gathered in front of the Maj.-Gen. Sir Isaac Brock statue on Wednesday, Sept. 4 to take an aerial photo in celebration of Brock University’s 60th anniversary.
