Master of Sustainability program celebrates 10 years

Brock’s Homecoming weekend, which took place from Sept. 20 to 22, was a little sweeter this year for graduates of the University’s Master of Sustainability program.

In addition to celebrating Brock’s 60th anniversary, grads also joined Environmental Sustainability Research Centre (ESRC) faculty members and staff to commemorate the program’s 10th anniversary with a Badger Brunch, taking the opportunity to reflect on the program’s growth and the impact its alumni are making in the world.

Brodie Hague (BA ’14, BEd ’14, MS ’16), who was among the first cohort of students to enter the Master of Sustainability program, was honoured with the 2024 David S. Betzner Award during Brock’s Homecoming celebrations. A tireless supporter of Brock and committed educator, Hague’s career began on Brock’s campus as a teaching assistant. With a passion for geography and teaching, he is currently the Assistant Department Head of Canadian and World Studies at a Hamilton high school.
