Goodman talk to explore pre-merger CEO relationships

Understanding how the interactions between CEOs before a merger and acquisition could provide insight on a firm’s future performance. The impact of these relationships will be the focus of the next Goodman Luncheon Speaker Series event on Friday, Sept. 27.

Shavin Malhotra, Professor of Strategy and Conrad Research Excellence Chair at the University of Waterloo’s Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business, will share more about his research during his upcoming lecture, Beyond individual leadership: The impact of joint CEO involvement on M&A Success.

Malhotra’s research has appeared in leading management journals, including Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Management and Research Policy. His work has also been featured in the Harvard Business Review and Wall Street Journal.

The Luncheon Speaker Series provides Goodman faculty, staff and students with an informal opportunity to discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with business colleagues. The talk will run from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in Sankey Chamber.
