The following is a list of thesis defences taking place from Monday, Aug. 26 to Friday, Aug. 30.

PhD in Physics thesis defence

Mahdieh Gol Bashmani Moghadam, a PhD in Physics candidate, will defend the thesis “Hidden Laplace-Runge-Lenz symmetry groups of transformation in Classical Mechanics and General Relativity” on Thursday, Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in RFP 214/215.

PhD in Interdisciplinary Humanities thesis defence

Josh Manitowabi, a PhD in Interdisciplinary Humanities candidate, will defend the thesis “Manitoulin Island Treaties: Anishinaabe Diplomacy, Agency, and Persistence” on Thursday, Aug. 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in PLZ 600F.

Master of ​Science in Applied Health Sciences (Kinesiology) thesis defence

Umar Yousufy, a Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Do anthropometrics and functional measurements predict performance in the Sandbag Lift Task?” on Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. in WC 204.

Master of Science in Management (Operations and Information Systems Stream) thesis defense 

Marjan Izadpanah, a Master of Science in Management candidate, will defend the thesis “Railroad Transportation of Dangerous Goods in Canada: Data-Driven Risk Analysis and Implications for Emergency Management” on Friday, Aug. 30 at 2:30 p.m. in virtual format.
