Parking reminders for start of Fall Term

EDITOR’S NOTE: Complimentary evening parking (6 p.m. to 9 p.m.) will continue to be offered in Lot 2 for the Fall Term (Sept. 1 to Dec. 24).

As the University prepares to welcome thousands of students and their vehicles back to campus in less than a week’s time, Parking Services is reminding the Brock community about some of the ins and outs of parking on campus.

Drivers should be aware of the following payment option information and new parking regulations:

  • Permits and paid parking are required for parking on campus Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Complimentary evening parking will be offered from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Lot 2 for the Fall Term (Sept. 1 to Dec. 24).
  • An evening flat rate of $6 will be available for those parking on campus outside of Lot 2 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
  • Daily, hourly and evening parking are available through the HONK mobile app.
  • Annual permits are still on sale for staff, faculty and students. Annual permits are valid from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31 and include the spring and summer period.
  • Parking is enforced 24-7 in all lots.

A significant increase in traffic on campus is expected throughout the Labour Day long weekend as residence Move-in Weekend takes place Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 1. Parking lots B, B2, 4, J, K, H, P and Quarry View will be unavailable during this time and the Brock community is asked to park in Lots 1 and 2 instead.

The Parking Services team will be available throughout Welcome Week to help address parking questions. The Campus Store location will be open from Monday, Sept. 2 to Friday, Sept. 6 and the Parking Services satellite office in Rankin Family Pavilion will be open from Tuesday, Sept. 3 to Friday, Sept. 6. The Parking Services team will also be at the Community Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and Wednesday, Sept. 4 to engage with students and answer questions.

“In addition to welcoming new students who may be unfamiliar with parking at Brock, we also have returning students, staff and faculty transitioning back to full operations after the summer,” says Matt Lauer, Manager of Parking Services. “Our team is here to help, and we invite anyone with questions to reach out so we can work with them to find the parking option that best suits their budget and schedule.”

Information on permits, paid parking hours and more can be found on the Parking Services website and specific questions can be directed to parking@brocku.ca
