Brock University Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS) is working to help grow the skills of the local workforce through a partnership with the South Niagara Chambers of Commerce (SNCC).
The University has signed a memorandum of agreement to become a learning partner of the SNCC, through which Brock will support reskilling and upskilling in the Niagara community.
“We are very excited to be partnered with the South Niagara Chambers of Commerce to help build the skills of the Niagara workforce,” says Nathan Cheney, Director, Professional and Continuing Studies. “This partnership will allow us to listen to and support local businesses and their employees.”
The partnership includes support of the annual SNCC Niagara Networks event, an annual employer pulse survey to help identify the needs of employers and the Niagara workforce in relation to skill and career growth, the potential for joint programming and discounts on open enrolment programming from Brock PCS for SNCC members.
“This partnership with Brock University for learning opportunities for our South Niagara businesses is a meaningful resource that we are thrilled to offer our membership. Understanding the business community’s needs and being able to quickly respond with training is essential in today’s environment and we are pleased to be working with Brock University to deliver this service,” says SNCC Director Dolores Fabiano.
“Brock University is a truly community-focused university, and this partnership demonstrates our commitment to partner with and respond to the needs of our local business community,” says Rajiv Jhangiani, Brock’s Vice-Provost, Teaching and Learning. “We look forward to working with SNCC to continue to develop the workforce in the Niagara region.”
