Brock community collecting donations to fight period poverty

One in six Canadians who menstruate have experienced period poverty. Brock University’s United Way Campaign committee is collecting menstrual products in support of United Way Niagara’s Period Promise initiative from Wednesday, May 1 to Sunday, May 12.

The struggle to afford or access essential menstrual products, known as period poverty, can interfere with work, school and social activities.

Brock students, faculty and staff are invited to donate tampons, pads, cups and any other unopened menstrual products that will be distributed to Niagara agencies, food banks and service providers for those in need.

Menstrual products can be donated at locations across campus:

  • Black Student Success Centre
  • Brock Campus Store
  • Brock LINC
  • Brock University Students’ Union — outside the front desk
  • Burlington Campus
  • Cairns Welcome Desk
  • Central Equipment Room
