Celebration of life to be held on campus for iconic Athletic Director Bob Davis

Brock University will honour the legacy of its longtime Athletic Director Robert (Bob) Davis with a celebration of life on Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m.

The commemoration will take place in the space that proudly bears his name, the Bob Davis Gymnasium, with formal remarks commencing at 2:30 p.m. The University’s flags will be lowered to half-mast on that day in Davis’ honour.

Davis passed away on March 30 at the age of 87.

“Growing up, my father’s dedication to Brock Athletics was not just a profession, but a way of life. He instilled in us a deep love for the university and its varsity and recreational programs,” said his daughter, Barb Davis. “As we prepare to celebrate his life, I’m reminded of the countless hours he poured into building this community, shaping it into the powerhouse it is today. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire generations of student-athletes.”

Davis was a known as transformative figure at Brock. He shaped its athletics program for more than three decades, expanding it significantly, winning numerous championships and leaving a legacy of dedication, leadership and passion for student-athletes.
