As students prepare to move out of residence or off-campus housing, the Brock University Students’ Union’s (BUSU) is inviting them to donate non-perishable food items to support the Food First program.
Donations will be accepted from Friday, April 12 to Wednesday, April 24 at the BUSU Front Desk, General Brock, Brock residences, Parkway Lofts and Foundry Lofts.
All non-perishable food items, such as canned or dry goods, are welcome and will go directly to Brock students in need. Meat, tofu, eggs, dairy, fruits, vegetables and toiletries will not be accepted.
The Food First Program is a partnership between BUSU, the Graduate Students’ Association and Brock University. The program supports Brock students experiencing food insecurity year-round by providing grocery store gift cards as well as connections to community resources.
Visit the Food First website to learn more about the program, resources for students and ways to help. Information on BUSU’s free food events can be found on the BUSU website.
