Brock students will be honoured for their contributions to on-campus initiatives and the broader community at an awards ceremony next week.
The Student Life and Success End of Year Celebration takes place Monday, March 25 from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Rankin Family Pavilion. The event will launch a week-long display highlighting the accomplishments of each award recipient.
Among the honours to be distributed are awards for community achievement, exemplary community partners, Learning Services leaders and transfer student involvement.
Rising Star award recipient Daniel Oguejiofor will be recognized for supporting Student Life and Success programming, being a member of the Brock University Volunteer Association, being on the Collegiate Leadership Challenge team and appearing as the University’s mascot, Boomer.
Oguejiofor, a second-year Bachelor of Medical Sciences student, says he is grateful to Brock for recognizing his achievements and providing him with support and opportunities for growth.
“As a student, leader and volunteer at Brock, my aim has always been to consistently show up, engage with students, offer support and share laughter,” he said. “I’m thankful to the Student Life and Success team for their incredible events and opportunities that have allowed me to connect with students, as well as partners from across campus, which has contributed to my involvement and growth at Brock.”
Executive Director of Student Life and Success Jenn Skelding said she’s pleased to celebrate the outstanding students who have devoted their time to enhancing the Brock and Niagara communities.
“Student Life and Success is grateful for the opportunity to recognize the remarkable nominees and recipients who have made a meaningful impact on our community,” she said. “The involvement of both students and community members serves as a powerful reminder of what we can achieve through collaboration.”
Anyone interested in attending the in-person presentation on Monday, March 25 is asked to RSVP on ExperienceBU by Wednesday, March 20.
