Input sought from Brock community as search begins for next Provost and Vice-President, Academic

Consultation with the Brock community will be an essential part of the search for the University’s next Provost and Vice-President, Academic, which is now underway.

Brock University faculty, librarians, staff and students are invited to share their thoughts on the priorities for the position as well as the experience and characteristics the chosen candidate should possess.

Consultation sessions will be held online this month to gather input that will help inform the discussions of the Advisory Committee — chaired by the President and Vice-Chancellor — as well as the group’s understanding of the ideal candidate profile and position mandate.

The hour-long sessions will be offered virtually for specified groups on the following days:

Faculty, librarians, part-time instructors and teaching assistants:

  • Monday, Jan. 15 at 10:30 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 3 p.m.

Staff:

  • Monday, Jan. 15 at 1:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m.

Students:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 16 at noon
  • Wednesday, Jan. 17 at noon

A meeting link will be provided after the registration form is completed online through the website of KBRS, the executive search firm engaged by the University to support the hiring process. Registration for each respective session will close 12 hours prior to the meeting time.

Anyone unable to attend a session who would like to provide feedback can do so through an online consultation survey. The survey link will remain active and the Advisory Committee will welcome feedback for the duration of the search.

Following community consultation, the position profile and employment advertisement will be created and published, with the goal of announcing the successful candidate later this spring.

Questions about the search process can be sent to Jennie Massey, lead consultant on the project, at jmassey@kbrs.ca
