Goodman students win national title at ACE Canada competition

Students representing Brock’s Goodman School of Business brought home a national title and 25 awards from Canada’s largest undergraduate business competition this past weekend.

The 42-member ACE Goodman team captured three overall titles including Chapter of the Year; Highest Win Rate, which is awarded to the team that has the highest medals per delegate ratio; and Delegate of the Year, which was won by third-year Bachelor of Business Administration student Amy McMillian, at ACE Canada nationals held Friday, Jan. 19 and Saturday, Jan. 20 in Toronto.

Goodman Dean Barry Wright says the School is thrilled with the team’s success.

The ACE Goodman team brought home 25 medals including three overall titles at the Ace Canada Nationals held Friday, Jan. 19 and Saturday, Jan. 20.

“It’s clear that the Goodman students’ passion and professionalism were on full display this weekend,” Wright said. “This success not only reflects on their individual accomplishments but is also the result of their incredible teamwork and dedication to pushing the boundaries of their knowledge.”

The competition saw 18 schools from across Canada come together in at the Sheraton Centre to compete in 17 case events. The event provides delegates the opportunities to enhance their personal development and network with industry professionals.

For the ACE Goodman co-presidents Jack Rupcic and Haley Kim, the team’s spirit contributed to its success at the competition.

“It was such an incredible experience seeing our delegation come together throughout the year and show such passion for Goodman through their dedication and hard work,” Rupcic said. “It created a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I am forever grateful for.“

The competition is based on the values of achievement of personal goals and growth, connection with Canada’s top firms, and empowerment by developing socially responsible leaders.

“ACE Goodman goes beyond developing presentation skills and becoming confident in yourself, which is crucial in the professional world,” Kim said. “The friendships forged in ACE are not just social connections but a milestone of personal growth, contributing to a community that understands the value of collaboration, communication and camaraderie — qualities essential for success in both personal and professional realms.”
