Goodman prof to discuss impacts of COVID-19 fears

Saima Naseer, Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management at Brock’s Goodman School of Business, will discuss the impact of fear of COVID-19 on anxiety and life satisfaction during the next Goodman Luncheon Speaker Series.

Held Friday, Jan. 19, the discussion will also explore how emotional regulation can mitigate paranoid cognition and in turn diminish the negative outcomes associated with these impacts.

Naseer, who received the 2023 Goodman Emerging Scholar of the Year Award, focuses her research on workplace bullying, supervisor undermining, stressors, and various leadership dimensions, including despotic, destructive and transformational leadership.

Before coming to Brock, she served as the head of the Department of Management at International Islamic University in Pakistan for nine years.

Naseer has been a reviewer for numerous local and international journals and conferences. She has published articles in renowned publications such as The Leadership Quarterly, Journal of Business and Research, Journal of Business and Psychology, Human Resource Management (FT-50) and Personnel Review.

The Luncheon Speaker Series provides Goodman faculty, staff and students with an informal opportunity to discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with business colleagues. The talk will run from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in GSB 310.

The event is open to everyone, and anyone interested in attending can RSVP to Jennifer Smith at jsmith2@brocku.ca to reserve a seat.
