Brock’s Information Technology Services (ITS) team is advising users to migrate video files saved in Stream (Classic) Microsoft retires the platform in February 2024.Brock users have until mid-February to migrate video and transcriptions files saved in the legacy Stream (Classic) platform.
The platform was replaced with Stream (on SharePoint) in August 2021 and will be retired by Microsoft on Feb. 15. Users will no longer be able to access Stream (Classic) files following next month’s retirement date.
Brock’s Information Technology Services (ITS) team has provided detailed instructions on manually downloading Stream (Classic) videos along with FAQs about the change. Anyone needing additional assistance is encouraged to submit an ITS service request.
Users who are interested in moving their Stream (Classic) videos to YuJa can consult YuJa documentation on how to upload a video or contact the Centre for Pedagogical Innovation for more information.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to review the Records Policy and records classification and retention schedule to ensure they preserve any University records saved on Stream (Classic). For help determining if a file is a record, contact Records Co-ordinator Stephanie Reid at sreid@brocku.ca
