Applications open for Brock employee leadership programs

Brock employees interested in further developing their skills and contributing to their ongoing professional growth may apply to one of two Leadership Development programs being held this spring.

The Office of People and Culture is accepting applications for the Leading at Brock and Emerging Leaders programs until Friday, Feb. 16.

“Current and potential future leaders are vital to Brock’s positive workplace culture,” says Emad Zaineh, Director, Organizational Development and Effectiveness. “We are pleased to be able to offer these programs complimentary through the University’s learning and development initiatives.”

Both leadership programs have been redesigned to focus on learning outcomes that will benefit participants, their teams and the University. Each program will cultivate and enhance the skills, abilities and attributes for success at Brock in a dynamic environment that nurtures effective leadership.

Leading at Brock is a program designed for employees in leadership positions looking to deepen and strengthen their leadership skills and increase their knowledge of core topics related to management at Brock.

This program targets training in crucial leadership skills, such as communication, decision-making, conflict resolution, strategic thinking, project management and leading change.

The Emerging Leaders program is intended for non-managerial employees looking to take on a greater leadership role within their current sphere of influence and scope of duties. It is designed to prepare individuals for leadership roles within the University.

The focus of this program is on early to mid-career professionals and to provide participants with the knowledge and skills that help them accelerate development and equip them with the tools needed to take on leadership responsibilities in the future.

The delivery format for this year for both programs will be a mix of synchronous online and in-person sessions running from March to June.

More information about each program and frequently asked questions are available on SharePoint. Interested employees are invited to apply online by Friday, Feb. 16.

Applicants are asked to please review the program requirements and discuss the time commitments with their supervisor prior to submitting an application.
