Volunteers needed for upcoming Pow Wow

Members of the Brock community are invited to volunteer during an upcoming Pow Wow.

Hosted by Brock’s Hadiya’Dagénhahs First Nations, Métis and Inuit Student Centre, along with the Office of the Vice-Provost, Indigenous Engagement, the daylong event will take place Friday, Jan. 19 in Brock’s Ian Beddis Gymnasium.

While aiming to connect students, staff and faculty with the local Indigenous community and to share rich and diverse culture first-hand, the Pow Wow is seeking volunteers who wish to learning more about Indigenous culture and make a positive contribution towards truth and reconciliation.

There will be a variety of different volunteer roles available, including greeting, wayfinding, food service, and assisting Elders and dancers.

Volunteers from all backgrounds are welcome to attend, and training for all volunteers will be provided a week before the event. Additional information can be found on ExperienceBU.

Any questions about volunteering or participating in the Pow Wow can be sent to Student Advisor/Recruiter Emily Bagshaw at ebagshaw@brocku.ca
