The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, Dec. 18 and Friday, Dec. 22.

Master of Arts in Applied Health Sciences (Physical Health and Education) thesis defence

Natasha Kuehnen, a Master of Arts in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “An Exploration of the Student’s Perspective of Alternative Environment Activities in Physical Education” on Monday, Dec. 18 from noon to 3 p.m. in WC 204.

Master of Arts in Applied Health Sciences (Nursing) thesis defence

Rosemarie Moretti, a Master of Arts in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Entering the Nursing Workforce during a Pandemic: An Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) Study” on Thursday, Dec. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in virtual format.

Master of Science in Computer Science thesis defences

Yage Zhang, a Master of Science in Computer Science candidate, will defend the thesis “Aligning Language Models Using Multi-Objective Deep Reinforcement Learning” on Monday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Cheryl McCormick, Chair; Yifeng Li, Supervisor; Shengrong Bu, External Examiner (Brock University); and Ali Emami and Robson De Grande, Committee Members.


Alanna McNulty, a Master of Science in Computer Science candidate, will defend the thesis “Swarm Intelligence and Evolutionary Algorithms for Real-World Constrained Multi-Objective Optimization ” on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 1 p.m. in virtual format.
