Employee feedback sought on academic technologies

Brock University is seeking feedback from employees about its current phrase-matching software and student course experience platform.

Faculty, instructors, staff and librarians are invited to complete surveys about their use of Turnitin and Blue ahead of the University’s agreements with these providers expiring next summer.

Instructors and faculty members will be able to share their needs and opinions of Brock’s phrase-matching software, which the University began using two decades ago, through the Turnitin academic user survey.

Employees engaged in administering online course evaluations can provide feedback on Brock’s student course experience survey system through the Blue academic user survey.

Survey responses will inform requirements and next steps for the replacement or renewal of these important academic technologies.

While the Senate Information Technology and Infrastructure Committee will receive a report on the community consultation process as of Thursday, Dec. 7, the surveys will remain open through January.

Questions about the surveys or the contract review process can be directed to the Centre for Pedagogical Innovation at cpi@brocku.ca
