Thesis defences — Oct. 16 to Oct. 20

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, Oct. 16 and Friday, Oct. 20.

Master of Arts in Psychology thesis defence      

Francesco Amodeo, a Master of Arts in Psychology candidate, will defend the thesis “Effects of a Disengagement Intervention on Cognitive Performance in Those with a Mild Head Injury” on Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; Dawn Good, Supervisor; James Danckert, External Examiner (University of Waterloo); Michael Busseri, Graduate Program Director; and Tim Murphy and Stephen Emrich, Committee Members.

PhD in Applied Health Sciences thesis defence

Garrick Forman, a PhD in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “On the Physical Demands of Gaming: Quantifying Pain, Muscle Activity, Kinematics, and Performance Impairments” on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. in PLZ 600F.

The examination committee includes Deborah O’Leary, Chair; Michael Holmes, Supervisor; Jack Dennerlein, External Examiner (Boston University); Karen Arnell, Internal Examiner; and David Gabriel, Michael Sonne and Aaron Kociolek (Nipissing University), Advisory Committee.

Master of Sustainability thesis defence  

Shannon Heaney, a Master of Sustainability candidate, will defend the thesis “Tactics to Engender Participation in Collaborative Environmental Management” on Friday, Oct. 20 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; Ryan Plummer, Supervisor; Wes Eaton, External Examiner (University of Wyoming); Jessica Blythe, Graduate Program Director; and Julia Baird and Amy Bowen, Committee Members.
