Brock’s annual Welcome Back Sustainability Challenge initiative is inviting students to track their sustainable actions for the chance to win one of five prizes.
Hosted in partnership with Blackstone Energy Services, the challenge asks students to log their sustainability actions, such as taking public transportation or using a refillable water bottle, between Monday, Sept. 11 and Friday, Sept. 15 to collect points.
The five students with the most actions logged by the end of the challenge will be entered into a draw to win one of the three Apple products: an Apple iPad, an Apple Watch or Apple AirPods. The two students not chosen in the draw will automatically win a $50 Campus Store gift card. Winners will be announced at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15.
“We hope the challenge will help students to have a positive impact on the environment by making sustainable habits a part of their daily routines,” says Mary Quintana, Brock’s Director of Asset Management and Utilities.
Students can register to participate until Sunday, Sept. 10 using the free Blackstone Energy EcoBoss app available on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Once the app is downloaded, students will need to:
- Review and accept the privacy policy once in the app
- Create an account using their Brock email and enter Brock’s challenge code: badgers
- Click the badge icon to join the Brock “Welcome Back Sustainability Challenge”
- Hit the green “Join Challenge” button
The challenge will begin at midnight on Monday, Sept. 11 and end at noon on Friday, Sept. 15.
