Brock has introduced new Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) Policy and Procedures that were created following extensive consultation.
Developed by the Office of People and Culture, with significant contributions from two working groups, the approved policy and procedures came into effect July 1. They can be viewed in full at brocku.ca/policies
The FWA Policy and Procedures replace the former Work-From-Home Guideline that was implemented on a trial basis in 2021.
The policy continues with the option to request to work from home while adding options for compressed work weeks and adjusted schedules. Due to the nature of the work in certain groups, the policy does not apply to BUFA, CUPE 4207-1, and CUPE 4207-3 and will have limited applicability for CUPE 1295 and IATSE.
“We believe offering flexible work arrangements demonstrates Brock’s commitment to wellness and work-life balance in support of our people, culture and work environment,” said Amanda Villella, Acting Associate Vice-President, People and Culture.
Additional information can be found on the Flexible Work Arrangement web page on Sharepoint, including a frequently-asked-questions document that will be updated periodically based on feedback.
Anyone interested in a flexible work arrangement should review the policy and discuss the idea with their supervisor before submitting a request on Workday for formal review.
