BadgerFest set to welcome students this fall

The Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) is ready to welcome Badgers to campus this fall with a packed lineup of events and activities.

Held in conjunction with the University’s Welcome Week, which includes its own lineup of events to be announced in the coming weeks, BadgerFest takes place from Saturday, Sept. 2 to Friday, Sept. 8.

“The BUSU events team and I are excited to deliver a lineup of events to help new students develop their social circles and make unforgettable memories, like I did in my first year,” said BUSU Vice-President, Student Services, Aishah Sonekan. “Whether you’re an incoming student, looking to make new friends or a returning student who wants to make the most of your time at Brock, there will be something for everyone.”

BadgerFest will kick off during residence Move-in Weekend with a two-day barbecue at Isaac’s patio on Saturday, Sept. 2 and Sunday, Sept. 3. Students will also be able to pick up a free BadgerFest glow T-shirt to wear at the BadgerFest Glow Party on Sunday, Sept. 3.

Other events and activities include the Brock Summer Games, an inflatable obstacle course, the Badgers Believe It or Not magic and variety show, a PJ Party Movie Night and the two-day Community Fair.

While all events at BadgerFest are free for Brock students, some will have limited seating and require attendees to register for tickets. Details on BadgerFest events and tickets are available on the BUSU website.

For students looking to hit the ground running in September, Brock University offers a summer orientation programs in July and August, in addition to Welcome Week events that include New Student Welcome and Academic Orientation events. For more information, visit brocku.ca/orientation
