A gathering of the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services (CACUSS) is coming to Niagara and members of the Brock community are invited to volunteer.
This year’s CACUSS annual conference is taking place at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre from Sunday, June 4 to Wednesday, June 7 and will welcome student services professionals from across the country, along with volunteers from Brock University and Niagara College.
Conference volunteers will assist with the proceedings while learning about a variety of topics, including evolving student engagement, building summer transition programs, student well-being in higher education and more.
Sarah Vaz, Brock’s Orientation and Community Experience Co-ordinator, said volunteering at the CACUSS conference allows participants to give back to the community while also participating in sessions that offer personal and professional growth.
“By being present for and taking part in various sessions and gaining hands-on experience, volunteers can expand their skill sets and knowledge base while networking with professionals from various institutions from all across the country,” she said. “Volunteering offers a chance to make a positive impact and further one’s personal and career goals simultaneously.”
Further information about the event can be found on the CACUSS website, while volunteers can sign up on the CACUSS volunteer form.
