Crucial Conversations training available to Brock employees

When stakes are high and opinions differ, discussions can quickly become ineffective. This is when conversations turn crucial, but having an arsenal of skills available can transform a disagreement into productive dialogue.

The Office of People and Culture is offering Brock employees Crucial Conversations training to learn strategies and tools for managing conversations effectively and respectfully while being mindful of emotions. Learning these skills will help participants increase team engagement, create space for innovative solutions and build team resiliency.

The self-directed, asynchronous online program uses instruction, application, practice and self-reflection to teach participants how to speak more effectively when it matters most. Crucial Conversations takes approximately eight hours to complete.

Crucial Conversations is free to Brock employees through the University’s learning and development initiatives. Spaces are limited and interested employees are invited to apply online by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24.

More information about the Crucial Conversations program is available on SharePoint.

Questions about the program can be directed to Emad Zaineh, Manager, Organizational Development and Effectiveness at ezaineh@brocku.ca
