Student creators can win Campus Store shelf space

Brock University students have a chance to see their creations sold at the Campus Store.

A new contest delivered by the Brock LINC and the Brock Campus Store is looking for students who have retail-based businesses with products to sell to the University community.

“Building off the success of the recent Brock LINC Holiday Market, there are many Brock students creating products to sell and we want to give these student entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase their products in a retail store,” says Cassie Conte, Program Manager of the Brock LINC.

The contest’s winner will be provided mentorship and dedicated retail space from September 2023 to April 2024, and will also have their product on the store website

“As the University retailer, our net proceeds are reinvested into supporting the student experience. This partnership is another exciting opportunity to showcase our commitment to students,” says Stephanie Nobles, Manager, Campus Store.

Applications will be reviewed in mid-February, and the top applicants will be notified that they have been selected as semi-finalists. All semi-finalists will then compete in a social media contest in March, with Brock students voting to select the winning business.

Students interested in applying for the contest can fill out an application on the Brock LINC website by Thursday, Feb. 9. Anyone with questions can contact Conte at cconte@brocku.ca
