Sow many choices at upcoming plant and seed swap-and-share

Botany plants lately?

There’s no need to buy them with the second annual seed and plant exchange, hosted by the Department of Geography and Tourism Studies, coming up next week.

All Brock students, staff and faculty members are invited to share, trade and collect plants and seeds at the swap-and-share Thursday, Feb. 16 from noon to 3 p.m. in MC C-308.

People wearing masks wander between long tables covered in brown paper with labelled seeds and plants.

Members of the Brock community shared tips and advice at last year’s event.

The drop-in event welcomes avid gardeners and curious newbies alike by offering something for everyone — seeds, cuttings, bulbs, extra gardening supplies and both indoor and outdoor plants. Please note that invasive species and cannabis are not eligible for the swap-and-share.

Participants should bring labelled containers or envelopes of items to share, as well as a box or bag to bring home their new greenery.

Items to share can also be dropped off in advance in MC C-324 during the following times:

  • Friday, Feb. 10 — 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Monday, Feb. 13 — 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 16 — 9 to 11 a.m.

Everyone who takes part will be eligible to enter a draw for a $25 gift card for Niagara College Greenhouse.
