Brock students are invited to meet new friends and connect with community resources during this year’s Frost Week activities.
From Monday, Jan. 16 to Saturday, Jan. 21, the annual winter student welcome week organized by Student Life and Success and the Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) will offer activities each day to further connect students with each other and University and community partners.
The week begins with free ice skating hosted by BUSU at Canada Games Park, while Student Life and Success will host a warming event in the same location for those in need of snacks and hot drinks away from the ice.
Additional highlights include BUSU’s Drag Bingo and Drag Show, puppy yoga, a free breakfast and a clubs fair, while Student Life and Success will host a board game café, volunteer fair and the BIPOC Community Social, among other events.
Yasmine Hejazi, BUSU’s Vice-President, Student Services, said the full slate of activities is the perfect way to kick off the Winter Term.
“What better way to welcome the incoming and returning students to campus than with a week filled with fun events for everyone to participate in?” she said. “These events will warm students’ spirits and help reconnect them with the Brock community.”
The week’s wide variety of events will help students to learn more not only about the University, but also about the region, said Sarah Vaz, Orientation and Community Engagement Co-ordinator in Student Life and Success.
“Frost Week is a great opportunity for students who are new to Brock to learn about the resources available to them, while the numerous events also welcome current students to discover winter activities and supports they may not have interacted with previously,” she said.
A full list of BUSU’s events can be found on the BUSU website, while Student Life and Success events are listed on ExperienceBU.
