Wright appointed Dean of Goodman School of Business

Brock has appointed Associate Professor Barry Wright the next Dean of the Goodman School of Business.

Wright — who has served as Interim Dean since July 1 — has been a faculty member in Goodman since 2003, previously serving as Interim Dean from December 2015 to June 2017, as well as Interim Associate Dean. He has also previously served as Director of the Niagara Community Observatory.

From 2020 to 2022, Wright was seconded as CEO of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games.

“I am absolutely honoured to be able to serve our Faculty in this capacity,” says Wright. “The Goodman School of Business is well-known for its work-integrative learning approach, and its reputation only continues to grow in Canada and abroad. I’m thrilled to be able to work with so many fantastic students, renowned scholars and world-class educators as Dean.”

Wright’s research at Goodman has largely focused on leadership and organizational change. In the surrounding Niagara community, Wright has served on numerous agencies and organizations, including as board chair of the Niagara Health, and a board member for Leadership Niagara and the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce.

Wright will help celebrate a significant milestone for the Goodman School of Business Wednesday, Nov. 23, when the School hosts a celebration of the 10th anniversary of its naming in honour of the late Ned Goodman.

The event takes place from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Goodman Atrium.
