Brock grad to share what ‘FUELS’ her at Women in Leadership event

Janet Westbury (BPhEd ’93, MEd ’00) believes the right mix of ‘FUELS’ (failure, uncomfortable situations, emotional engagement, listening and ‘secret sauce’) can ignite anyone’s leadership journey.

At the next Women in Leadership event, the Brock alumna and Undergraduate Experiential Education Co-ordinator in the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences will share her experiences and discuss the necessary ingredients to embark on — or energize — your personal journey to leadership.

Westbury is no stranger to stepping up when needed. Her recent forays into leadership have included taking part in the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference, speaking on a panel at the Niagara Leadership Summit for Women and volunteering internationally with Academics Without Borders.

Westbury’s session will take place Tuesday, Nov. 29 from noon to 1 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. All who are interested are invited to attend. Details on this and other upcoming Women in Leadership sessions, including dates, descriptions and login details are available on the Women in Leadership website.

Women in Leadership is committed to supporting and advancing persons who identify as women to achieve and succeed in leadership. All are welcome. Individuals are welcome to join the Women in Leadership channel on Microsoft Teams or to contact Jeannie Mackintosh at jmackintosh@brocku.ca to be added to the Women in Leadership email distribution list.
