Brock Badgers launch discounted tickets for faculty, staff

Brock Sports and Recreation is offering discounted tickets to varsity home games for faculty and staff, including several special games for free.

All Brock University faculty and staff members are eligible for a 20 per cent discount on all regular season men’s and women’s hockey, basketball and volleyball home games when they purchase tickets online.

A 20 per cent discount also applies to those seeking season passes for Brock’s volleyball, basketball or hockey teams.

Faculty and staff must visit the following SharePoint link to access the discount codes.

Brock University Vice-President, Research Tim Kenyon can often be found rooting for the Badgers in Bob Davis Gymnasium or Canada Games Park. He said varsity athletics illustrates many values that Brock holds as an institution.

“Student-athletes are wonderful ambassadors for Brock, while their competitions are powerful community-building experiences. They demonstrate many of the values our institution stands for: respect, dedication to excellence, community engagement and integrity,” Kenyon said. “Cheering on our Badgers in the great atmosphere at Brock is just plain fun. And seeing those same student-athletes cross the stage at Convocation, having witnessed their sports achievements over the years, adds to the pride and respect for their academic accomplishment.”

Faculty and staff with a valid employee card can receive free admission for themselves and up to three guests to sporting events designated as Faculty and Staff Appreciation Nights, including:

  • Sunday, Dec. 4 — Men’s hockey vs University of Guelph (Canada Games Park), 2 p.m.
  • Friday, Feb. 17 – Women‘s and men’s basketball doubleheader vs Toronto Metropolitan University (Bob Davis Gymnasium), 6 and 8 p.m.

In addition to the hockey game on Dec. 4, Brock’s Student-Athlete Leadership Council, in conjunction with Brock Sports and Recreation, will host a free Holiday Skate at Canada Games Park, next to the University’s main campus.

The event will run from noon to 1 p.m. and all participants will receive complimentary tickets to the Brock Badgers men’s hockey game at 2 p.m.

It is recommended that all participants wear a helmet while skating, and helmets are a requirement for skaters aged six and under.

While the event is free, those who can are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy or non-perishable food to donate to Community Care.
