The Schmon Tower’s familiar red glow will give way to an array of colour schemes to mark several occasions taking place in November.
Events in November include:
- Tuesday, Nov. 1, purple, for Women Abuse Prevention Month
- Tuesday, Nov. 8, red, for Indigenous Veterans Day
- Friday, Nov. 11, red, for Remembrance Day
- Saturday, Nov. 12, blue, for World Pneumonia Day
- Monday, Nov. 14, blue, for World Diabetes Day
- Thursday, Nov. 17, purple, for World Prematurity Day
- Sunday, Nov. 20, light blue, pink and white, for Transgender Day of Remembrance
- Thursday, Nov. 24, blue, for World Antimicrobial Awareness Week
- Friday, Nov. 25, orange, for United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the beginning of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
- Tuesday, Nov. 29, red, white, blue and gold, for Giving Tuesday
The tower is lit externally with 48 powerful LED lights, which offer a full rainbow of colour options.
Members of the community can request the tower be illuminated in a particular colour for holidays and non-commercial special events.
