Safety preparation will be a top priority next week as Brock University undergoes several fire drills.
In recognition of Fire Prevention Week Sunday, Oct. 9 to Saturday, Oct. 15, fire drills will take place throughout the week at several buildings on Brock’s main campus, as well as the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts and the Hamilton Campus.
Fire drills are not expected to interfere with events scheduled for next week, including legacy and Fall Convocation ceremonies. Contractors continuing work in Inniskillin hall are not required to evacuate during the fire drill.
Below is a schedule of planned fire drills:
Tuesday, Oct. 11
- 9 a.m. — Walker Sports Complex north
- 9:20 a.m. — South Block and Field House
- 9:40 a.m. — Scotiabank Hall
- 10 a.m. — Robert S.K. Welch Hall
- 10:20 a.m. — Plaza Building and Student-Alumni Centre
- 10:40 a.m. — East Academic buildings 1, 2 and 3
- 11:30 a.m. — Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts
Wednesday, Oct. 12
- 9 a.m. — Mackenzie Chown Complex and Inniskillin Hall
- 9:30 a.m. — Roy and Lois Cairns Health and Bioscience Research Complex
- 10 a.m. — 573 Glenridge
- 10:15 a.m. — International Centre
- 10:30 a.m. — Brock Research and Innovation Centre
- 11 a.m. — Central Utilities Building
Thursday, Oct. 13
- 10:30 a.m. — Hamilton Campus
Friday, Oct. 14
- 9 a.m. — Arthur Schmon Tower and Thistle Complex
- 9:30 a.m. — Goodman School of Business
