Experienced developers and first-timers alike are invited to try their hand at video game creation during an upcoming Halloween-themed event.
Hosted by and in Brock’s Centre for Digital Humanities (CDH) in TH 269, the annual Spooky Shape Game Jam returns Friday, Oct. 28 from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 29 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The two-day event invites students of all experience levels to participate in designing a seasonal video game.
Teams of two to three students are challenged to create a themed game using only designated tools within a strict time period. Each game will have to incorporate randomly assigned Halloween shapes.
Team members should register individually via ExperienceBU. Team captains are asked to email CDH Project Co-ordinator Jeremy Leipert at jleipert@brocku.ca with the names and email addresses of all team members.
Mentoring and support is available to all participants using the Unity engine. The final games will be judged on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 4 p.m. by industry partners.
More information can be found on the event’s ExperienceBU listing.
