When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, Brock University’s Human Resources team quickly responded by ramping up its health, safety and wellness resources for employees.
While many of these resources will continue to benefit all employees well into the future, one will soon revert to its previous parameters.
For the past two and a half years, all current Brock University faculty and staff regardless of their eligibility have had temporary access to Brock’s Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), which provides employees and their dependents with confidential 24-7 support to help resolve work, health and life challenges.
With public health restrictions lifted and a full return to campus planned for the fall, Brock’s temporary access to EFAP for all employees will transition back to its previous state.
Beginning Thursday, Sept. 1, EFAP will return to being a part of the resources offered through Brock benefit plans, which are available to eligible employees in certain employee groups.
All employees will continue to have access to all other health, safety and wellness resources implemented throughout the pandemic period and beyond. These resources, as well as a comprehensive list of community wellness resources, are available to all employees on the Health, Safety and Wellness Toolbox on SharePoint and include amongst others:
- ergonomics considerations
- healthy virtual meetings guidelines
- monthly wellness articles
- office stretches video
- wellness calendars and event recordings
- work-life balance tips
- The Working Mind workplace mental health training for employees and managers
