Goodman prof named President-Elect of Canadian Academic Accounting Association

Goodman School of Business Accounting and Governance Professor Samir Trabelsi has been appointed President-Elect of the Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA).

The organization is the largest Canadian group of accounting academics and promotes excellence in accounting research and education by fostering a community that creates, communicates and advances accounting knowledge in the public interest.

Trabelsi is Goodman’s CPA Ontario Distinguished Research Scholar and is a global leader when it comes to championing financial reporting and sustainability standards.

“I’ve come to understand what this prestigious association stands for — promoting excellence in research and education,” he said. “Fostering a community that creates, communicates and advances accounting knowledge in the public interest are core values for the Canadian Academic Accounting Association.”

Trabelsi will take over the role of CAAA President at the organization’s annual conference next summer. At that time, he will become the first Brock University professor to hold the prestigious position.
