Thesis defences July 4 to July 8

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, July 4 and Friday, July 8.

PhD in Applied Health Sciences thesis defence

Kylie Dempster, a PhD in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Cardiovascular and Inflammatory Consequences of Adverse Childhood Experiences” on Tuesday, July 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in PLZ 600F.

The examination committee members are Brian Roy, Chair; Deborah O’Leary and Terrance Wade, Co-Supervisors; Randell C. Alexander, External Examiner (University of Florida); Tony Volk, Internal Examiner; and Val Fajardo and Adam MacNeil, Advisory Committee.

PhD in Psychology thesis defence

Tessa Mazachowsky, a PhD in Psychology candidate, will defend the thesis “Novel ways to measure future-oriented cognition: Using parent-report measures and open-ended responses to explore young children’s future thinking development” on Wednesday, July 6 from 9 a.m. to noon in PLZ 600F.

Joint PhD in Education Studies thesis defence

Julianne Burgess, a Joint PhD in Education Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Diverse belongings: An improvisational inquiry into newcomer worlds, worldings, and the literacies of belonging” on Thursday, July 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in PLZ 600F.
