EDITOR’S NOTE: This event has been moved indoors to Market Hall.
When the President’s barbecue makes its return to Jubilee Court Wednesday, June 1, there will be more than food on offer.
In addition to popular barbecue fare served up from noon to 1:30 p.m., the faculty and staff lunch, hosted by Brock’s Interim President and Vice-Chancellor Lynn Wells, will include live music, lawn games and the opportunity to tour some of the newest facilities on campus.
Guided tours of Residence 8 — Brock’s five-storey, 300-bed semi-suite residence — and the expanded Zone Fitness Centre will take place at 11 and 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 and 2 p.m. Staff and faculty are also invited to participate in self-guided tours of the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre, the new 210,000-square-foot sport and recreation complex at Canada Games Park.
Anyone participating in the Zone tour is asked to check in at the Walker Sports Complex Welcome Desk. Tour guests will receive a one-week free trial pass to the Zone.
Residence 8 tour participants are asked to check in at the East Service Desk in the building’s lobby.
Tickets for the barbecue are $6 each and available until Friday, May 27 online through University Tickets. Menu choices include a vegan/vegetarian burger, mild sausage or a beef burger along with a choice of salad, drink and ice cream cups.
Anyone attending the event is asked to bring a printed or digital copy of the ticket showing their food preference.
Held rain or shine, the barbecue will take place in Market Hall in the event of inclement weather.
