Celebration planned for Anna Lathrop

The Brock University community is invited to attend a drop-in celebration in honour of Anna Lathrop, Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Students, whose decade of senior administrative leadership concludes at the end of June.

Faculty, staff, librarians and students are welcome to drop by the Walker Sports Complex Dance Studio on Tuesday, May 31 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Donations in support of the Food First program are welcome as a gesture of appreciation.

Lathrop has worked at Brock University for more than three decades, with the past 10 years spent in senior administrative leadership positions.

Lathrop was appointed in 2012 as the University’s inaugural Vice-Provost, Teaching and Learning, with oversight of the University’s Centre for Pedagogical Innovation. This role focused on enhancing Brock’s teaching and learning culture through a range of traditional, experiential and innovative pedagogies.

In 2015, Lathrop added to her portfolio the student services units responsible for student health and wellness, student success, student affairs, and co-op, career and experiential education as the Vice-Provost, Teaching, Learning and Student Success.

In 2020, with the addition of Brock Sports, Brock Recreation and Residence Life, her position title changed to Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Students.

Following Lathrop’s administrative leave, she will return to her faculty duties in the Department of Kinesiology, Faculty of Applied Health Sciences.
